Of course, many people use email-only methods because
their WWW access is too slow, not because they don't
have WWW access. I am sure most subscribers to this
list know what that is like ...

How about this idea?

a) Put the form on a separate page that will download
   as fast as possible -- no images, no javascript, no
   complex table formatting, etc -- nothing except the
   form and explanatory text.

b) Tell the visitor what will happen after the form has
   been submitted.

c) Make the 'Thank You' page the Home page, or some other
   page that is probably already in the browser cache.
