The Ties that Bind

By Vasuki Violet

Rei crept down the alley, gun in hand. He'd recieved an anonymus tip that their undercover cop's identity was in danger of being discovered. Since Marcus, the undercover cop, was an old buddy of his, Rei took it on himself to do a little checking up on the operation. It had taken a helluva long time to convince the cute-ass mountie that he wasn't off getting into trouble. Finally Fraser backed off and left fo his apatment with Diefenbaker. Shortly after Rei was driving down the sea-side warehouses.
Rei slowly turned the corner, gun in front. Assured that the coast was clear, Rei stepped forward. He heard a "whish", and felt something stab his neck. Quickly Rei pulled a feathered dart out of his neck. Almost immediatly, his vision went hazy. "Oh sh-" was all that escaped his lips before he collapsed, unconcious.
***Back at the Precinct***
Fraser strode in the direction of Rei's desk. "Rei!" upon ariving at the desk, Fraser found no Rei, no keys, no coat. Dief sniffed his nose in annoyance.
"I know Diefenbaker, he's gone off and gotten into trouble."
With a sigh, the wolf agreed .
"Well, lets go find him." Dief moaned pitifully and eyed the vending machine.
"No Diefenbaker, Rei's life is much more important than a candy bar. Lets go."
Head drooped, tail slouched, Dief followed.
***Back at the warehouse***
With a groan, Rei resurfaced from unconciousness. He blinked his eyes, but the room was pitch-black. Experimentally Rei moved each limb, coming to the conclusion that he was tied in a very awkward and uncomfortable manner. Both arms were cuffed behind his back, but they were fastened so they were both in an armhold, hands together as if in prayer. His shoulders were already aching from the peculiar angle.
