''Good afternoon to you all, (or good morning if you are further flung than europe....) so, the lads have just arrived home safe and sound after a quick flirtatious tourette of england which was a blast from what i hear so far.....if theres anyone out there that caught the gig at the fibbers in york - what was it like? i havent heard yet and would be interested..... they are now going to be preparing for the dates at whelans at the end of this week...i cant wait as im coming over to see them all and i guess by sunday night i will most definately have had my frames live fix which should last me well into october this year......well maybe. i am trying to hook up with phantom fm to broadcast one of the nights live (probably friday or saturday), so if any of you cant make it on those dates, watch this space and ill let ya know where and when. i think enter.com are also trying to work out if they can webcast one of the nights too , so again watch this or their space and lets see if we can get something to work on either front. talking of webcasting, did anyone out there have any joy with getting to see the kashmir klub webcast? everyone ive spoken to so far said they couldnt get on???? before i get to the dates, a quick update as to where we are at with the recording of the album. glen as you probably know, has been away in america and had a great time touring solo and with various friends up and down the east coast of america. whilst in chicago he hooked up with 'songs ohia' and ended up recording some stuff with them in steve albinis studio (legendary recording engineer of some pretty amazing stuff). to cut a long story short, steve albini had some time in september which he offered to glen and the frames so that they could come back over and do some recording with him - so, thats where they are off to from the middle of september til the middle of october. the record has been going really well on this side of the pond in those 2 months that glen was away, with david odlum and craig ward beavering away with overdubs various and getting some great strings from colm on tracks like headlong (yes it will be available on the album). now all the lads are back in dublin they will continue with overdubs and vocals until they head to chicago in september where they will try out/record some of the tracks with steve albini. craig who is an integral part of this record will also go to chicago and oversee the whole affair too. everyone in the band is well excited about how the record is going and we really, really want to get something out sooner rather than later in the shape of a single or ep.......i think realistically we are talking mid october for the first outing on cd/vinyl/whatever. the only downside of the chicago recording is that it means the album wont be finished for a release in september now, but i really think it will be worth waiting for - i hope you agree...... so, without further ado - here are some dates that i have confirmed in ireland and elsewhere for the frames to play over the next couple of months. there will be more added as we need to get gigging to finance the last leg of this album.......unless anyone has a spare ten grand out there? from the top then: JULY 20TH WHELANS 21ST WHELANS 22ND WHELANS AFTERNOON SHOW 22ND WHELANS 23RD WHELANS ADDED DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND....
