First all, if zielonka has only bee playing 6 months and he already has played a show thats all ready fucking incredible. You know how hard it is to put a band together after that short period? I did and it was me, (Im a singer/songwriter/guitarist), a saxophone playing asshole, and some dude who said he had a keyboard. Not to mention, i wasnt ready to play yet. and think, if it took me six months to get a band, how many practices did we have? none
Also, you have to understand, the first songs a band writes are gonna have evidence of ripping off other bands, ecspecially punk songs. most are written in major chords, with a solo or bridge some where. basically, starting off, a band is gonna need be vocal driven unless, your guitarist, bassist, or drummer is the fucking shit and has more then enough experience. of course, the rest of the band is toned down, so either you find beginning bands with simple songs that have baring resemblance to other ones, or you find people at all instruments that can kick the shit out of each other by soloing rolling and slapping.
so yeah. dont expect the next Nofx or Pennywise to jump out at their first show. I just played my first show with 4 songs only and we even messed up the first one really good.
