hell's lame poetry
Congratulations, you get to read some of my lame poetry! I see how thrilled you are. Anyway, the poetry here is only part of my collection. If, for some strange reason, you actually want to read more, you can go here to do so.
Quick note: most of my poetry is depressing, surreal, or cynical. If you're offended, feeling suicidal, or confused, i'm not forcing you to read it.
princess of the anti-prom
princess of the anti-prom, significance unknown
walk about her business until her cover's blown
and the girls will shine like movie stars
or drag queens in the downtown bars
they just don't care where their bird as flown
they'll glide in the room with wings of ice
greedy to hear someone say they look nice
and the princess will smirk at them all
their overpriced dresses for a cheap school ball
twirling around to music that sucks
all the guys wearing the same stupid tux
without a single care in the world
"tell me, is that hair too tightly curled?"
she thinks as she stands laughing at the sight
"your mind is certainly missing something tonight."
she can say she stayed away from the start
when they return complaining of a misplaced heart
princess of the anti-prom, looks through velvet eyes
they come in like a joke, 200 walking lies
they'll float across the floor on air like oil
faux smiles only mean to make blood boil
they'll lose it all before the music dies
they'll get drunk on water and drunk on air
make fools of themselves but just don't care
the princess laughs with a cynical smile
"just you wait, they'll regret it in awhile
they're too stupid to care, too blind to see
that the birds have already gone from their tree
too big a deal for a one night prom
just wait until someone drops the bomb
that it isn't important, the excitement will die
they'll be bored silly, the time will go by
they'll wait for another useless night
'til they lose their minds and the birds take flight."
princess of the anti-prom, significance never known
walked about her business until her cover was blown
and the girls never shone like movie stars
but like drag queens in the downtown bars
they'll never care where their bird has flown
the future of my fiery soul
blood is cold
i shiver in the heat
sweat pour down and
i'm dying
through the blackness
a distant voice
i cannot hear the words
but the comfort
death of soul
is but a milestone
and-
i am a phoenix
child of the flames
death is an option
and-
i wait
clouded mind and vision
see no light before me
but the sound
the muse awaits
she guides me
and-
i am my own destiny
a red rose
rose, pretty rose,
petals velvet soft
pick you up with such gental care
and your thorns slice my hand
rose, pretty rose,
see that blood pour down?
bright as your velvet petals
bloody river of those petals
rose, pretty rose,
never given as a gift
i ache and throbb
and still, pretty rose
looking innocent in sun
when the moon arises
and death lurks near
rose, pretty rose,
you feel at home.

dreams
floating down on wings of glass
holding on until the crash
high above the trees and grass
how much longer can i last?
cold wind stings this flying fool
shoots me down with air so cool
never believed that i could fly
looking into the star-scratched sky
make a wish and held on tight
feeling my soul fly through the night
so much i'd give to remember it all
but i know i'll forget as soon as I fall
so many lies that i've believed
so many times that i've been deceived
so many wishes that never came true
so many voices that tell me what to do
on wings of glass i defy them all
the voices of steel! i heard them call
as thick oily sleep approaches the dawn
i fly over an ocean, a forest, a lawn
pity this fool who's forgetting to wake
they shatter my flight with words so fake
they try to tell me it's all in my head
your thoughts mean absolutly nothing. they said
but as i landed i knew the lie
'cause they never believed that i could fly
in the abyss
16 candles burn bright
on a warm summer night
their flames burn true
as says what i should do
meaningless thoughts and broken words
the patient song of a thousand birds
no direction no foresay
nothing here to show the way
nightmare dreamscapes and a blackened sun
swift west winds as deer do run
realm of lost unconscious state
last stone to throw here be your fate
bastard dreams lost in the sands
falling through misguided hands
love and light hold me here
touch the heart and calm the fears
take the pieces to your heart
hoping we shall never part
cut away the cold dim light
don't give up without a fight
blinded by the rising sun
fate stands within a gun
fall to my knees but shall not cry
look up and praise the deep blue sky
the realm of illusions stands before
gives meaning once, but never more
where did the blue skies go?
when did we stop asking why?
who is telling the media to lie?
whatever happened to equality,
what is this unfair anarchy?
you have freedom of speech, they say.
but we'll hurt you if you don't conform today.
now they've gone and abused the press,
who cares if he's seen wearing a dress?
and where's the right to bear a gun?
in case of war, who'll fire one?
we have a right to assemble in peace?
not if that big Shot owns the lease.
go out into the world and protest Today!
then what are these fines we'd have to pay?
say racism's bad but show it on TV,
Fox'll add more to the controversy!
why do the Feds know so much?
about our lives and of those we touch?
the real reason for the cameras in the schools?
proving again that we're just fools.
the rich and famous get the job.
why not close that wallet and listen to the mob?
dirty politicians running the state?
is it stupidity or just dumb fate?
have faith in those winning by mocking their peers?
aw, just come to the bar and have a few beers.
but not if you're under twenty-one!
instead, go out and smoke cancer sticks for fun.
what's this snobbery filling the 'burbs?
don't care when some city kid's splattered on the curb?
"where's the parents" is all they say,
but your drinking and driving at night is okay?
stating "a free and equal country" doesn't make it so,
where the hell did the Blue Skies go?
