why buy? 1 2 . 0 8 . 0 0 _______________________________________________________________________________________ You're probably asking yourself this question: "Why should I buy the book? Is it worth the $4.99?" The answer is: No. It's worth at least $20.00. This book is unlike Gary Paulson's any others, in the sense that is is hilarious and not at all depressing. Everything is written in a lighthearted tone. Even when "me", the unnamed cousin of Harris, is describing his pathetic drunk parents, you can't help but laugh. "My parents went through three stages," he says. "Buzzed (happy), drunk (mean as snakes) and unconscious. As time went on it got worse and worse, until they were pretty much mean whenever they were conscious." He then goes on to describe some of the relations he lived with, including a "Norwegian bachelor farmer who thought God was living in his haystack". Harris and Me is also very well written. Paulson uses a different writing style in this book to make it more comical. He hints around about something that will happen, and often describes the results of what happens before it happens. It's hard to explain....but once you read the book you'll know what I mean. Every chapter in the book tells it's own story. I was able to skip around my first time reading it-skipping what seemed boring at the time (my second time reading it I discovered that they weren't boring at all) and reading what I pleased. Also, because it's a relatively quick read, it can be entertaining the second, third, and even fourth time you read it. So, have I convinced you yet? Click here to buy the book!
