Well, it's been two years since I started this page on what was then a small ad-free server called Angelfire. They offered me 5 megs and an html-only interface. But that didn't matter; all I wanted to do was to  make a good  page about the Spin Doctors. Two years later I've achieved that and more, but I couldn't have done it without you. For shits and giggles I've written a history of my webpage using for the most part my memory, and to get the exact dates, old newsletters. Enjoy.

April 1999: A time before Napster. A time when SciFi was still showing new episodes of MST3K. A time before Here Comes The Bride. A time before Sinko knew html...

It was a somewhat happy time; I was new to the world of webpages but I knew about a new album coming from the Spin Doctors. I discovered Angelfire mostly by accident and thought what the hell, I'll try making a webpage. I was originally going to make 2 sections: one about the Spin Doctors and one about one of my favorite shows Space Ghost Coast To Coast, but eventually I got rid of the SGC2C section. I got most of my news info from a page called The Unofficial Spin Doctors Page, which has since changed its name to Fly In My Glue. Luckily I emailed the webmaster of the page and let him know I was using the news, and the webmaster Staffan and I remain on good terms to this day. The layout was extremely basic but I was learning new things ever day.

June 1999: A time of unfortunate incidents....

By now my page was getting a good amount of visitors for a basic webpage that just started out. One day I went to my page's URL only to discover that the page had been deleted. I decided to send out a letter to everyone on my mailing list (all 2 of them) and set up a temporary page over at Homestead. Meanwhile I tried to rebuild my webpage back at Angelfire but the hacker eventually changed my password and email address. So I went searching for a new server.

July 1999: A time of new hope....

I found a new server called HotBot Home Pages. I rebuilt my page with a new look and several new sections. It was still pretty basic, but it was much better. I slowly regained the amount of visitors that I lost when I got hacked into, and more.

November 1999: A time of new looks...

Come November, my webpage was flourishing but I was bored with the basic look. I set to work making frames on the page. In order to do this, I needed a new, bigger server. I chose Geocities, not ad-free but pretty damn close.

December 1999: A time of celebration...

On December 23rd, 1999, my new look with frames launched. Rumors of a new tour were circulating, and I had the story first. Life was good.

March 2000: A time of bad graphics

On March  11, 2000, I sent out this message on my mailing list:

I was making some graphics for my page, and one thing lead to another, and
pretty soon I kinda sorta had a new look! Now, this is temporary, so I can
take it down if enought people complain about. What do you think? Please
let me know!
Thank you,
Chris aka Sinko

Well, nobody complained, but they should have. A few days later I learned that I had left out some sections in creating the new graphics! Instead of restoring the page to it's former glory, I opted for a new look.

April 2000: A time of new looks...

Strangly enough, one year after the page first launched I created a brand new look! It was my best one yet: easy to update, easy to access, and pretty to look at. Feedback was positive, and once again rumors were circulation around about a new album. I had the story first. :-)

April 25- June 5 2000: The dry period..

This was a rare time period where I made no updates to my page. The only other time I would experence such a period was at the end of the year.

July 2000- November 2000: A time of buisness as usual...

News updates, link fixes, and more.

December 2000: Another new look

Oddly enough, one year after the frames version launched, I made a new look I called Version 5.0 (it was my 5th look.) And that's the one I still use today.

December 30th-Febuary 2001: Dry Period Number 2

Lots of things were happening during my private life which I do not make known to the public for several reasons. They weren't mental problems though; I can tell you that much.

April 2001: SSDP turns 2!

Well, that would be today.

There's my comprehensive history, folks. I'll keep this up for the month of April. I think I speak for all of you when I say: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINKO'S SPIN DOCTORS PAGE!
