Well, my group of 12 characters were 7th/8th. Unfortuanetly they ALL got blasted by the Shadow breath and all lost 2-4 levels in round 1. ;-)
They KNEW it was a Shadow dragon before hand and did not cast any prep spells. As mentioned in earlier comments, only 1 party member was standing at the end. Half -1 to -10 and the rest dead.

Taught them to not be so cocky though ;-)
