Yes, she indeed knows of the shadow dragon but it doesn't concern her. The dark world isn't the plane of shadow but a inner world that turns in the opposite direction inside the outer world. I made that up myself.
The AD&D cosmology does exist however. It is actually quite simple to reach the outer planes!
