I Against I - I’m A Fucked Up Dancer, But my Moods are Swinging (CD)
Epitaph

On the first album (Headcleaner) I Against I did for Epitaph I thought them to be an ordinary Green Day rip-off. I wasn’t the only one who thought that and apparently I Against I have taken this criticism to heart. On this new CD they haven taken a step aside from the standard punkrock thing. This CD is much more a rock/pop/emo kind of effort. And I must say, I like it a lot better. Good vocals and pretty nice songs. The CD has been produced by Theo van Rock (known from his work with the Rollins band) and because of that it sounds a little raw.
They have tried to create an OWN sound and that’s recommendable, I don’t like the way they tried to accomplish this by putting in samples and drumloops though. It sounds really kitsch and corny. One of the songs even is a pure Blur "song#?" (euh... what was it 9 or 7?) rip-off.

I like what they’re trying to do, but they aren’t really convincing. They went from being great at the rip-off shit they did to now being nothing more than a just above average band in this new style they’re playing.
