"A bible a day keeps the logic away?" Let us examine the arguments you have given in support of the bible being illogical. Of which are borrowed from more than likely the web or a fellow atheist. It is clear you have not seriously studied the subjects of "origins" or your belief system. What you do engage in is support of your beliefs no matter the facts, contradictions, or errors in logic. Which is no better than saying " my school is better than your school" with no statistical proof , just the belief that because you are there ,that makes it better. No reference or basis in fact for this belief ,which makes that a LOGICAL FALLACY. If you were willing to look at this debate from a reasonable position, you would clearly see that there are some facts that need answered. No matter the information given ,you just dismiss it ,with no unbiased investigation. Close-mindedness is not only dangerous but defies LOGIC. Please do not even attempt to say that I am close -minded, because I have proven time and time again that if wrong about a certain belief in light of facts to the contrary I ALWAYS adopt what is true NO MATTER the presupposition. Now I urge you look at these answers given , ponder them and ask yourself is this fleeting moment on earth DOING WHAT YOU WANT really worth ETERNAL HELL? Take seriously what I tell you and investigate all info, and not just dismiss. 1."So you say that everything must come from somewhere? Where did God come from? Does God have a mother?" Well to this I would answer that we know of only two possible theories of "origins" , evolution or creation.(If you are one that says that we were placed here by Aliens then evolution is only moved to a different time and place.) Neither of these can be observed today. Creation happened once, and evolution is so slow that we can not reasonably say that it can be observed. ( An experiment was conducted on fruit flies where, new generations are very frequent compared to humans. The flies were also subjected to radiation to induce hopefully a positive mutation and after thousands of generations nothing note worthy has happened) Some interesting questions and thoughts come to mind on this subject of origins that I would like to share with you . It is very note worthy that NO EVOLUTIONIST has EVER accepted the challenge to enter a formal WRITTEN debate on the subject of origins and it is rare to catch one live in front an audience. Although they do happen I just attended one in Winchester , Virginia between Duane Gish, and Massimo Pigliucci ,to be honest the debate was closer than I had expected but none the less Massimo committed grave LOGICAL FALLACIES, like appealing to adaptation as evidence for evolution and trying to sell the theory of evolution as just as creditable as the theory of gravity. The theory of gravity?? I thought Isaac Newton established the GRAVITATIONAL LAW long ago? Yes he did! So Massimo tried to deceive? Yes he did! It makes it a law when it can be tested in a lab,gravity can be tested anytime anywhere! Duane is 82 and is very shape but new blood needs to tackle the job of formal debate. Do not misunderstand Duane won hands down but did not point out some errors Massimo made .Now back to the task at hand. I do have some more questions for you about evolution. 1.We are told by science that we evolved from smaller less complex organisms ,yet to the contrary we see only a small handful of very controversial ,questionable transitions in the fossil record. Instead of the billions of transitions we should have ,we have a few that even evolutionists say that they are poor examples if we really did evolve. Many evolutionists also admit that the fossil record leaves them wanting BIG TIME! 2. If the solar system really did evolve ,why do we have 3 planets which spin backwards? Better yet tell me the last time you witnessed a giant explosion and noticed enormous complexity as a result? Sound crazy? Well that is what we are told took place, "the BIG BANG" .To top even that one show me where life was the result of a lightning strike? Again evolutionists want us to believe that the basic chemicals essential for life just happened to floating along one day in what has been called primordial stew and ZAPP!!! Now from that we have life and from that lightning strike we get all( eventually) life forms male and female. That takes real FAITH unequalled in all Christendom combined. 3 How about the first cause of matter? where did space come from? or how about Matter itself, where did it come from? Steven Hawkins on his best day is still baffled by that! How about energy!? Where did it come from? 4. Another question for evolutionist,Which came first, DNA or the proteins needed by DNA-- Which can only be produced by DNA. I could go on and on but I think these will occupy enough time. It is my guess that you will merely reconcile these questions with your belief rather than face the truth. Truth hurts Jen there is a hell, and a heaven. So as far as your first question the first cause for matter is much more LOGICALLY explained " God Spoke". As for the question " Does God have a mother?" We only have Scripture to speak on that subject ,If God wanted us to worship it says that He has ALWAYS been and will ALWAYS BE !. I can trust that this is the case since the bible is perfect without error and can be trusted to speak with authority on the subject of God that is what it says. As far as the bible and it being inerrant we will cover that a little later. As for the second question" If God wanted us to worship him,why did he make it look convincingly like he does not exist and evolution took place?" To say that he made "it look convincingly like evolution took place" would be a matter of opinion shaped by the presupposition idea of evolution taught by our secular humanist institutions ,namely local school systems. Of which these teach as fact ,evolution. But it is far from truth. By the way saying God made it look like evolution took place because of a particular presupposition is a LOGICAL FALLACY! Next question!!! "If the universe was created 6,000 years ago,why do we see galaxies that are 8 billion light years away? ( If you say God sped up light, why did he want to make the universe appear to be billions and billions of years old) Once again an evolutionist presupposition is the mind set blurting questions of which you already are convinced there are no answers for. But to the contrary there are many,many answers . 1 I am going to paraphrase from Scott M. Huse's book "The Collapse of Evolution" pg 72-76. Many evidences of a young Galaxy are out there if you were truly after "truth" you would have at least read one of many books on these related subjects. Well Jen at the rate I have been writing this it appears I am not going to get to all the answers . I am sending this incomplete. But one thing rings clear ,your mind is closed and it is clear from this prospective that " NO BIBLE IN THE DAY KEEPS THE LOGIC AWAY" Please read Scott M. I tried to read this. Really I did. It just didn't work out for me. I won't even try to count how many times the word "logic" came up. This guy is enough to nauseate Spock. Anyhow, I didn't bother to reply to this. I don't think I ever will. I don't see how it will change anything, as much of what he says is lies and part of it is true. He can try to change what I think is true but I'm telling you, it's not going to happen. I simply cannot be led to believe that the bible is 100% true. It's just not happening. And if he can't change my mind on that one simple fact, there's no need to continue even thinking about this. Hasta la vista, christ-boy.
