Pictures made by the Ms.
The life of an artist.
Even when I was very young I was an Artist. On the age of 3 I made the most terrific
paintings, although I was the only one who could tell what the meaning behind
it was. But then again Picasso never ended that period and he is pretty famous.
On the age of 6 I decided that copying was easier and more rewarding. My parents,
teachers and relatives just seem to like it better that way. The "oohs" and "aahs"
I got made that pretty clear. The Xerox Machine called Marinka was born. Years
of copying resulted in me being able to draw what I see.
So, here are the things I make when I'm in need of money. I put them here
so that you will not think of me being some shallow, simple, stupid dyke from
the Netherlands. Some of the kites on the pictures are over 18 square meters big.
To make a comparison, they have the size of the front of a house. Three of these
"The Indian", "Taz" and "Black" can be seen on big kite-events all over Europe.
Well, that kinda made me proud to be honest. If you ever been there and saw them:
--> You just met the artist! <--
A very friendly girl called Tasha mailed me a while ago. She said that the two big kites "Indian" and "Black" were copies from two karakters from the comicbooks "Elfquest". "Elfquest, she said, is drawn by Wendy Pini! Does she know you used her art?". No she doesn't as a matter of fact and she will probably whoop my ass for it. I got the pictures from the man I painted the kites for. But before I get the living shit kicked out of me let me say to Wendy: "You are GOOD girl!!!!!! It was hard enough to copy them, let alone inventing them. Respect!"
And now I am ready to be beaten up!
ps: I only hope that Taz will never find out.
