or, Why Some Of These Stories May Seem Familiar
On the last update, I put several new stories on the Buffy page-- most of which were written over two years ago. At the time, I was writing fanfiction under my real name, and publishing using an AOL account (which I still use for communicating with friends and family.)
The Buffy stories were distributed more widely than the Due South stories. One was hosted for a long time on WorstWitch's (now defunct) Giles Fan Fiction Archive, some were posted to the ASH-GASP mailing list (for fans of Anthony Stewart Head), and I actually posted another to the buffy creative group. I also had a small homepage in the free space AOL provides, but it didn't get visited (or updated) much.
Life went on. For various reasons, I didn't write much for about six months-- from around September '98 to March '99. When the bug bit me again, I realized that maybe I hadn't been writing because using my real name was making me shy away from what I really wanted to write.
So when I started writing Sentinel slash stories, about a year ago, I decided to do so under a pen name-- hence "Livia" and my Hotmail account.
Not to say that every "Livia" story is dark, violent or sexually explicit-- I still write fluff and I still write gen. Now there's just a wider range of 'fic here, that's all. Anyway. I left my old Buffy, Due South and miscellaneous stories up in my AOL space, mainly out of laziness. However, some recent events, both in my life and online in the fandom community, have caused me to rethink that decision. I've therefore taken that site down.
Which brings me to the 'new' stories. There were some I just didn't want to lose, to let slip away into the electronic night, so to speak. Pretenders and Pouring It All Out are still good, I think, even if they were written almost two years ago.
Ditto for the Due South stories (mostly drabbles) I haven't added yet. Since they are old, I'll probably go back and touch them up a little, but they're still mostly the same stories I wrote back in 1998. Though they may be rough, I hope you enjoy them anyway.
Go back to the Buffy stories.
