History: Son to a very violent man who used to hit his mother until she went mad, Miguel O'Hara repressed his feelings as he grew up, cold to everyone, even his younger brother Gabriel. He also pushed himself to the top, entering the educational program of Alchemax being still a kid and becoming one of the most valious brains of the corporation. As he grew up, he obtained a good status, earned alot of money, and lived in one of the towns best towers, but had to leave aside his scruples many times. Quite self-sure and bad mannered with the rest of the people, he was not very appreciated by his partners, prefering the company of his hologram Lyla to that of many humans.

As the golden boy of Alchemax, Miguel was involved in one of the corporation's most important projects; the induction of superhuman abilities in a human host by merging the scence of an animal with the body of the subject. Unfortunately, Miguel was pressed to use humans to experiment on them and after his failure with a volunteer, who was transformed into a blob of flesh before dying, he decided to leave the corporation. Too bad his boss was not willing to let him go; as he was resigning, Tyler Stone, drugged his drink with Rapture, a designer drug capable of turning the consumer into an addict in the very same moment it enters his blood. The only legal way of getting the drug is Alchemax, so Tyler though that Miguel was bounded to him for all life.

O'Hara, however, had other thoughts. As he discovered he had been turned into an addict and was unable of controlling his own body (he even hit his fiancee Dana in struggle), he decided to use his merging machine on himself. However, when he was inside the chamber, an employee of the corporation, jealous and angry at Miguel, changed the parameters of functionality, thinking it would kill the man.

As the whole machine burst in flames, Aaron was more than surprised to realize that Miguel was alive, but not only was he alive, but changed. Now he had fangs (like a vampire) and claws in his fingers and toes. Scared to death, Jordan walked back, falling from the building, and though Miguel tried to help him, his claws hurt the man's arms until he finally fell to the ground. As Miguel realized he had been transformed into something different, by the same moment the guards entered the room, willing to die, he jumped out of the building as well, just to discover that he was now capable of crawling on the walls. Miguel returned to his apartment, finding out that his body had been cleaned from ecstasy, but that now he was a freak.

His claws kept destroying all his clothes, so he decided it would be better to use those made with unstable molecules. Too bad the only suitable stuff he had was a disguise he used in the deads carnival in Mexico the year before. It was not until he woke up to discover that the sheets had been sliced but his skin was intact, and then he found out he could retract the claws at will, with some concentration.

However, new surprises were to come. First, Alchemax had sent a cibernetic killer after him. That made him use his disguise to avoid reaveaking his secret identity, but then, the followers of Thor took him for a herald of Thor's coming. Somehow, he was pushed into the hero bussiness, as his brother's girlfriend was kidnapped, discovering after an itch in his arm, that he was producing a sort of spider fluid. He would also discover later that his bites were poisoned, as the ones of a spider. Finally, willing to help as much as he could, but keeping as his main target the destuction of Alchemax, Miguel became Spiderman 2099.
