Although the 2099 series of Marvel Comics' is long past, the books are not soon to be forgotten. They are being sold on Ebay, and Comic conventions all across the states. Really, as far as my opinion goes, they were good books with a good story. If there's one or two bones I have to pick with the book, it's that the Venom 2099 comic series lasted like only two or three episodes, (which can be expected when Venom is caught by Spiderman and torn to pieces in his first issue) and the other problem I have with the 2099 series, is the artwork on Spiderman. Spiderman 2099 #1, had awsome artwork on the cover, and sketchy artwork in the book itself. But Venom 2099, which had become because of Spiderman, had better artwork than Spiderman 2099. I mean, it's derived from Spiderman and has better artwork, what the shock is up with that? (A little 2099 humor, and if you didn't catch it, go read any issue of Spiderman 2099)
The cover of Spiderman 2099 #3 is enough to give an avid comic collector like myself an eye ache. Spidey's head is all lobsided and looks to be drawn by a kid. I can personally say that I could have done a better job. I think that it should have been drawn just as good as the cover to #1. (Maybe I concure with that notion because the same artist does both covers) Besides all the negativity about the artwork, the story was pretty good, except for the confusion a reader may have while figuring out why Miguel becomes Spiderman, and where he happened to have a costume like that. The story, other than that, was suspenseful and had some good humor. If you haven't read any Spiderman 2099 comics it'd be better for you to go pick some up at a convention and read them, if you don't care about how he becomes ol' Spidey start with issue #3 or #4. Or if you don't understand how Miguel becomes Spiderman, you can read the Spiderman 2099 Biography in the biographies section.
