Cheat Codes
Playstation From the main menu select "Special," then select "Cheats." At this screen you may enter any of the cheats below. Note the spaces in some of them. After entering one of the codes, you will hear a special sound effect, plus a short description of the code will appear on the screen. To get Peter Parker, you'll have to face the task of attaining 10,000 points in zip-line training. If you haven't noticed yet, Spidey casts a shadow on the electrified floor. Align your shadow atop the bottom of the icons so that when you drop down, you will be right where the icons are. The key to pressing the zip-line button again is the number of times you've heard Spidey grab an icon. As soon as you hear the 2nd to the last sound byte, hit the zip-line button right away. By this time, you should be able to grab the last icon and return to the ceiling.
Now what are you going to do with the icons that you didn't get that are close to the floor? Just cancel your zip-line by pressing the jump button then hitting zip-line right away as soon as you grab the icon. If you want to do it To successfully get 10,000, you'll need to go through 3 icon layouts. It's tough, but with practice you'll be able to do it with not to much trouble. What's easier than that though, is to just use one of the cheat codes for the costumes.
Book # - Level - Location 1 - Bank Approach - Book one can be found on top of the Fantastic Four Building. 2 - Hostage Situation - Book two can be found under the chair in the cubicle. The cubicle is located on the second half of the level. 3 - Stop the Bomb! - After freeing the hostages, return to the hallway just prior to the first security door. 4 - Race to the Bugle - When the game cuts to the FMA of the two henchmen, you can find the comic on the side of the big building. 5 - Spidey Vs. Scorpion - After destroying all of the furniture in the room, the comic will appear in the middle. 6 - Police Chopper Chase - On the last building look behind the box on the right-front. 7 - Building Top Chase - This comic is located inside the Goblin Crane Lair. 8 - Scale The Girders - On the left side of the building on the ledge. 9 - Police Evaded - The building with the skylights that get destroyed has the comic. Shoot the broken class. It'll be located behind the class. 10 - Spidey Vs. Rhino - After destroying every barrel in the level you can find the comic in the middle of Electric Pylons. 11 - Catch Venom - Located on the Incomplete building. 12 - Catch Venom - Locate on the roof of one of the buildings. 13 - Spidey Vs. Venom - Lift the car and toss it aside. The comic will appear. 14 - Sewer Entrance - This comic is located inside the first hallway. Walk to the Cavern and then return. 15 - Sewer Cavern - You'll find this one behind the waterfall. 16 - Sewer Plant - Walk down the hallway and make your first left, walk to the end. 17 - Hidden Switches - Press the Fourth switch and return to the third switch. 18 - Tunnel Crawl - Hit the switch on the first box, the comic will be in the second box. 19 - The Lizard's Maze - Talk to the lizard, the comic will appear near by. 20 - Symbiotes Infest Bugle - This comic is located in the vent with the Hostage. 21 - Elevator Descent - Walk down the Hallway, it'll be at the bottom-left. 22 - Stop the Presses - Lift and throw the stack of paper located on the second half of the level. 23 - Bugle's Basement - Shoot all four leaking pipes. The comic will become revealed when the furnace on the left explodes. 24 - Spidey Vs. Mysterio - Destroy all of the targets on the first stage, the comic will become visible on the bottom level. 25 - Waterfront Warehouse - Look in the alcove. 26 - Waterfront warehouse - At the end of the level, just prior to opening the vent that leads to the next level, you must locate the hidden room behind the grating. It's the last grating before the end of the level. 27 - Underwater Trench - In the second machinery room you'll find a hidden switch. Return to the part where all of the gun turrets are (at the beginning of the level) and access the secret door. 28 - Stopping The Fog - In the center column, a small room will be located in the bottom portion. 29 - Spidey Vs. Doc Ock - Be ready for this one, it'll appear after Doc Ock's shield regenerates the first time. It'll only appear for a few seconds, so grab it quick. 30 - Spidey Vs. Carnage - In the middle of the bubble it'll appear and disappear and then appear and then disappear. 31 - Spidey Vs. Monster-Ock - You'll find it at the first bend in the pipe. 32 - Spidey Vs. Monster-Ock - You'll find it about 3/4 of the way through the level.
COSTUME LOCATION - SPECIAL POWERS Spider-man 2099 - Collect every Comic throughout the game. - This costume will grant you the ability of Double Damage. Symbiote Spider-man - Finish the game in any difficulty level. - This costume will grant you Unlimited Webbing. Captain Universe - Beat the game on Hard. - This costume will grant you multiple abilities: Double Damage, Unlimited Webbing and Invincibility Spidey Unlimited - Beat the game a second time with any difficulty level selected. - This costume will grant you the power of Stealth. Press the L2 button at any time (while in this suit) to become invisible. Scarlet Spidey - Beat Rhino on level 3 area 1. - No special abilities Ben Reilly - Beat level 4 area 2. - No special abilities. Quick Change Spidey - Achieve a score of OVER 10,000 points in the Zip-Line training. - Wearing this suit means you will be restricted to two web cartridges Peter Parker - Locate the hidden Kraven room in "Item Hunt". Peter will be inside. - This suit, also, restricts you to two web catridges.
Use your Spider-Sense to fight multiple foes. The red arrows will point to where an enemy is located. Also, your Spider-Sense will point out the closest bad guys first. Sometimes Zip-Line webbing can be used to save yourself from falling. Make sure there is something above you to cling to first! Vary your attacks. Different enemies respond differently to attacks. Some have to be fought at a distance; others are not affected by impact webbing. Learn how to fight each enemy in a way that conserves both health and webbing. Use Web-Spikes to increase your punching power considerably. When facing multiple opponents, the Web-Dome is useful for both attack and defense.
Don't forget that you're Spider-Man! Use ceilings Sometimes it's better to run than fight. Even super heroes know when a fight can't be won. Use discretion when confronted with some enemies. Use the environment to your advantage. Grab your enemies and send them flying. This is especially useful in the furnace room. Spidey may be a superhero, but he doesn't like water. Avoid swimming at all costs! Use combinations of punch, kick, and webbing to get more effective attacks. Remember, many objects in your environment can be picked up and thrown by Spider-Man. Remember to explore your environment; you never know what you might find behind a door or under some furniture.
Game Knowledge You Should Know Within the game there will be a number of power-ups to aid Spider-Man in his mission. Each power-up has a different function, listed below. To obtain a power-up, run, crawl, or use your zip-line to make contact with it. If Spider-Man has reached his holding capacity for a certain item, the power-up will become transparent when you make contact with it. Here are some of the power-ups to be found in the game:
Note: Some helper icons will seem to disappear without being activated. This only means that you have already performed the task it was intended to teach you.

the more skillful yet easier way to snag 10,000 points in zip-line training, drop down from the ceiling and not zip all the way up to the ceiling upon grabbing the icons. Move around by hitting the zip-line button and the jump button while pressing the Directional button to the direction where the next icon is. Note that you won't be able to see where you're going to be dropping on and this poses an additional threat when the layout of the icons change.
If you press jump while in mid swing, then re-engage your web swing, you can alter your
course. This is called "Breaking, or Cutting Webbing."
and overhangs to approach the bad guys with stealth.
Web-Cartridges (Blue): Each web attack Spider-Man does (see Spider-Man's Moves section) will remove a portion of your overall webbing. Before you run out of webbing you'll need to pick up a new web cartridge. Web cartridges allow Spider-Man to execute his web attacks. Under normal conditions Spider-Man can carry up to ten web cartridges at any time.
Health (Red and White): Health cartridges serve to restore a portion of Spider-Man's health throughout the game. Be careful however, you'll never know just how much a particular health cartridge will restore you. Play wisely to conserve your health.
Armor (Gold): This rare power-up will change the costume and properties of Spider-Man for a brief time in the game. When you collect this power-up, Spider-Man's suit will change to its armored configuration. The Spidey-Armor has its own health bar, so it will take damage and leave Spider-Man unharmed. However, normal health cartridges will not work on Spidey-Armor, so be careful. Once its health runs out, Spidey-Armor disappears and Spider-Man returns to normal. Also, Spidey-Armor increases the amount of damage Spider-Man does to his opponents while reducing the amount of damage an enemy can do to him.
Helper Icons: These icons will appear as an aid for less experienced players. The icons will inform you of anything from how to use your web to hints on how to solve some of the puzzles found in the game. To activate the helper icon, simply walk through it.
