Issue: Amazing Spider-Man Annual 2001
Original Price: $2.99 Current Value: Cover or Less The Amazing Spiderman Annual 2001 was a greatly anticipated comic, mainly because the Spiderman comics had just been starting to pick up as far as good story and artwork when the comic came out. The cover gets Spidey fan-boys ready to read with the same computer animated 3-D cover as the Spiderman game for N64 and Playstation. It has Spidey crawling up the side of a building with cars below, pretty cool if you ask any fan. The comic itself is pretty good as long as you stick with ready the Amazing Spider-man and Peter Parker Spider-Man every month. Mary Jane has just come back from her abduction by the wierd man that really isn't explained very well. Peter and MJ are packing their things to bring to Aunt May's house. They decided it'd be best to live their until things were back to normal. Mary Jane is obviously now a little freaked out by closets etc. considering she had just been kept in one for a few months. The attic door shuts on her and Peter while they are in there, and the freak out. Later, they are talking when Peter has to run out as Spider-Man to save people from a fire. While he's out, Mary Jane is wondering what the future holds for them. At the end of the comic, they are walking the streets. They stop after a while and Mary tells Peter to keep her ring for a while, and that she needs to be away. (Peter had the ring from when Mary Jane was thought to be dead from a plane crash - like said earlier, you have to be an avid reader to keep up) So what's going on? Is Mary Jane breaking things up for good, or is this just temporary? The woman that Peter goes crazy over because she was thought dead, is now making him wait. That's women for you. Hopefully the next few comics will give fan-boys some explanation and warning to what's to happen with MJ, Peter and the Future. |
