It's very mello (something I'd expect from a 52-year-old, but not from Bowie).
The album really grew on me (except for song #9, Brilliant Adventure, on which he doesn't sing). When is first heard the songs (ie: Thursday's Child) I was like, "yea, yada, yada, this is great, blah, blah, blah, NEXT!" Now, I put it on repeat.
What's up with Brilliant Adventure, anyways?
The Pretty Things Are Going To Hell makes me so sad. I'm one of the "Pretty Things" from his early glam-rock-era song, Oh You Pretty Things, who was drivin their "muthas and fathas insane." Now I'm "going ta hell"? No! :( [sniff, sniff]
It's very easy to fall asleep to (not a bad thing!). It's just very soothing.
It sounds very... "Labyrinthy"
Survive (song #3) is my favorite! every line is awsome, it sounds very groovy, and it's the least depressing song on the album
