Welcome to my more random side...

Here you will find all the stuff in my life that isn't related to art, which is actually quite a bit. If you think of life as a buffet, I am one of those people who takes a little bit of everything, and ends up with some strange melange that inevitably causes indigestion. In less metaphorical terms, I am interested by a wide variety of things, and pay little attention to what society thinks a nice girl like me should be doing with my life.

I am currently 24, which is a pretty odd age. My co-workers still call me kiddo, but in a couple of years I'll be geriatric by rave-scene standards. As far as I'm concerned, 24 is a perfectly useless age; the last really "good" birthday was 21...now what do I have to look forward to? Whoopee...at 25 I can rent a car on my own! Look out, Hertz! Oh well...someone who met me recently thought that I was 14...I'm still trying to decide if that is good or bad...

Moving on...I just got a place in Washington, D.C. Everyone is always telling me that the area I live in is "up and coming." As far as I can tell, that's just a nice way of saying that they will be forcing all the poor people to move to Southeast. Anyway, I really love my new apartment. Urban living rules. I get to skip that oh-so-lovely commute, and walk five blocks to work in the morning. I'm also only a few minutes away from a lot of the clubs I go to, which means that my place is going to be the ultimate crash pad for the summer.

My new roommates are David and Josephine. David is a really offbeat guy who is attempting to overcome his addiction to computer games. He's from Nebraska originally, but I won't hold that against him. David really wanted to get pirhanas for one of my aquariums, so he could feed them mice and Thanksgiving leftovers. We ended up compromising and got Oscars. More about that later... David's fiancee, Josephine (Nyaku, in Swahili), is a kickass girl from Tanzania. She is one of the most down-to-earth people I have ever met, and is amazingly easy to get along with. Myaku makes incredible Tanzanian food, and insists on feeding us all. Hey, I'm not gonna complain... She also likes my artwork and my ferret, so she gets a high rating in my book.

My bestest buddy in the world is Olly, who I hang out with every chance I get. I met Olly in kendo a couple of years ago, and he's pretty much become like a second brother to me. I think we share a few too many braincells, which is kinda creepy at times. When Olly and I wake up long enough to actually make the drive between Mt. Airy and DC, we can usually be found at Yoshitoshi, looking for bust-proof events, watching horror and action flicks, or running around frantically getting stuff ready for Shack Krew events.

Also on the honorary family list is my best friend Liz (aka 'LEEEEEEZ', or 'Thebazilla'). Together, we go on the hunt for weird international junk to cram into our living quarters, do artsy-fartsy stuff, and behave with random cheeziness. We'll even rescue wayward rabbits every once in a while. Yes, we are scary. Yes, we read each other's minds a little too much. Oh well, we like it that way.

Cody is the most recent addition to the "gee, I sure like to hang around you a lot" list. It's a little unclear when we started dating, but I guess we'll figure it out eventually. Cody has introduced me to the world of IDM (Intelligent Dance Music), which is a strange world indeed. We are now the hosts of a kickass FTP site, that has already outgrown my 40 GB harddrive. Eh, we'll be putting it on an 80 GB drive soon enough. Hooray for advances in technology!

Since you are probably getting sick of reading stuff that most likely has no relevance to you , I'm going to stop rambling and break this up into tasty chunks that you might be interested in:

Gwumphs: Here you will find drawings and stories about obnoxious little creatures called gwumphs that my brother Josh and I made up ages ago. More info on my bro here also.

Pics: Pictures from my three trips to Russia, and also of my friends, family, and other random stuff.
Quotes: The infamous quote list started on Anderson 3-S. I still update these regularly, so chances are you'll find someone you know on here.
Kendo: I've been doing kendo (Japanese Fencing) sporadically for the past few years, and this is by no means the best page on kendo, but I'm sure I'll find something to say or somewhere good to send you.
