Snowboarding with our Friends

Of course I get big air like this "ALL THE TIME" !!!

Brian jumps the big table at Stratton on 2/15/01 doing a 360 grab with a stall in it.  Eileen is ready with Camera.  Ken is ready with Camera.  And Brian has his helmet on tight!

Pat brought his brother Johnnie over from Ireland.  This was Johnnie's first trip to America!  So he lands in Kennedy airport on Friday night.   Pat picks him up and drives him 5.5 hours north to he state of Vermont to go snowboarding.  We wake up at 6 in the morning to go to the mountain.  Its -8 degrees farenheit !  Wind blowing at 50 mph, its snowing HORIZONTALLY  and Johnnie is going to learn to snowboard.  He hangs in there.  It was really tough stuff to learn in these conditions.  He did it and learned to board over 3 full days !!  We were all really impressed.

So while they are putting the snowboards (at the end of this exciting weekend), Pat asks Johnnie where he would like him to "put" the snowboard.   Johnnie thinks about the "freezing cold" snowboard trip and     ========>

  1. Johnnie thinks for a minute and thinks it may fit here

  2. No, Johnnie looks around and thinks here's the right spot.

  3. Yup,a  perfect fit!!.

Seriously, it was a fun weekend a good time had by all.  It was god awful cold though!!!!!!

Hunter Mountain, N.Y.

Here are some pics from the 2000/2001 winter at Hunter Mountain.  This mountain is a "day trip" from New York City and we hit it just about every weekend.   And since its only a 1 day trip,,,  we ride hard and fast all day,,,, since the next day we can all just rest at work! And Hunter is one TOUGH MOUNTAIN!

Now remember, high performance snowboarding is all about training, training, training and getting a good night's sleep before the big day.  And no fraternizing with the ladies.

This message was brought to you by the "captain" of our snowboard team.
