Not A Funny Drinking Story - but I hope you print it.
Every once in a while something serious happens no matter what you do to avoid it. On the morning of 18 April 2002, after waiting 12 hours to hear the news, I found out which of my brothers had been killed in Afghanistan by friendly fire (I was once a member of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry - Parachute Company). In the Irish tradition I then spent the next several hours calling my other brothers and sharing some memories, celebrating the lives of the fallen - all the while drinking swish right out of the barrel (I did filter it first). Eventually I remembered that I had to work that night and had a rest. The most annoying alarm in the world went off for nearly an hour before it roused me from my slumber and I made it into work only a few minutes late. Work went by pretty quick until around midnight when the hangover kicked in.
Marc, Ainsworth, Richard, Nathan - AIRBORNE. I will remember you, my brothers.
