A good friend of mine...around 10 years ago when she was just 21...had just gotten her own place...but often her or her friends, even when she wasn't home, would drop into her moms. Like an all-night diner almost. One night after heavy drinking she got a call from her mom around 8 in the morning. Her mom asked if one of her friends or her had been in the house last night. She said, "No mom, I went out and came home and as far as I know no one came over there". Her mom goes on to say "well then someone came in and stole the leftovers out of the fridge and left the plate in the microwave". Weird but who knows? Around 1 pm my friend finally got up and went to the bathroom. There was a pork chop bone in the tub. When she got to her car there was corn and green beans all over, no plate nothing anywhere. She apparently scooped up some veggies in one hand and a pork chop in the other and came home. She's still never told her mom she was the leftover robber.
