Some Like it Hot

Some Like it Hot

A crowd of us were having a night out at 'The Pine Grove' - the local watering hole, taking in the honky tonk sounds of whatever band was playing. The place was nearly full with between 150 and 200 people there. It was wintertime and, although were we drinking and singing, we were freezing cold. The owner had the heat turned way down. So after a while of sitting with our coats on Paul said he had an idea. He went up to the bar and got a pen and some paper and started going from table to table. As he went to each table, the people there would bust out laughing and write something on the paper. He came to our table last and showed us what he'd done. At the top of the paper he'd written "We, the undersigned patrons of this bar, are formally requesting the management to turn the heat up" and there was about 150 names under it. He started a petition to get the owner to heat the place up and got almost everybody to sign it. Then he went up to the owner and gave him the sheet. Of course 10 minutes later we were outside where it was much colder - kicked out for being 'smart asses'.
