Unforeseen Wedding Expenses

Unforeseen Wedding Expenses

Our drinking buddy Brian was finally getting married and all of us guys were invited along. The wedding was in the bride's hometown so I booked a room in the same hotel as the reception and some of us were going to stay there for the night. As the wedding reception went on our room became "party central". At one point there was about 30 people in the room. There were glasses and bottles everywhere, people smoking up in the bathroom, the radio was blasting out music - a total mess. It seemed like there was more people in our room that at the reception. At the end of the night some people asked to stay in our room for the night. We didn't care. The next morning there was about 3 people to a bed, another 7 or 8 on the floor, people in the couch and armchair and me and 2 others asleep at the kitchen table. I'd booked the room on my credit card so I just dropped the keys off when I left. A month later I got my credit card statement and the room charge was $120 when I was told it'd be $80. So I called the hotel - right ready for a fight over the extra $40. When I got the manager he said that the extra charge was because when the maid went in the room the next day she refused to clean it and the hotel had to hire a cleaning service. I couldn't argue with that.
