A college buddy and I decided to spend our Easter weekend in New York City. We were both a couple of green-horns, one from Texas and the other from Nebraska. After I night of hard drinking around the Village in which we frightened off our dates and the rest of the general population, we hopped a cab back to the ferry we needed to take back to our room. Apparently and for no good reason, I decided to punch my friend right in the face, shattering his glasses. He, then, naturally, began punching me back in the face. A full-blown fight ensued, until the frightened cab driver started yelling at us. We then simultaneously turned our anger on the cab driver, who we discovered was heading in the wrong direction?!?(like we could tell). Soon I started barfing in the back seat, but not wanting to make a mess, I barfed into my own hands and threw it out a (closed) window. The cabby threw us out and we eventually got another cab to the ferry landing. We ran from the cab without paying, and caught our ferry. There were only 2 other people onboard, 2 frightened young women from Sweden. While I puked my guts over the side of the ferry, my friend, being of the religious persuasion decided to "bless" the girls with a rousing, drunken "Easter Sermon." I then, so I'm told, yelled something like "Let's rock-and-roll" while I tried to remove the fire-ax from the wall of the ferry. Fortunately the ferry arrived before I could inflict any damage, and we stumbled to our room without further incident! As a learning point, my friend now wears special "drinking" glasses with flexible frames when we go out together in case I decide to blind-side him again, and his drunken preaching abilities has earned him the nickname "The Reverend."
