Two Tennis Players

I much prefer women's tennis to men's tennis. Yes, there's the obvious reason, but I also find men's tennis too fast and powerful. The guys look like they're playing table tennis, and seem to swat the ball rather than hit it. Anyway, enough of the analysis. As sex and sport always go well together, it was inevitable that there'd be some sportswomen in this - and here they are. Yes, Martina Hingis and Anna Kournikova, winners of the 1999 women's doubles at the Australian Open. Are you surprised?
Alright, I know, it's easy to criticise Anna Kournikova for being more about her looks than her playing - she hasn't won a singles tournament yet. Maybe she'll make it and maybe she won't, but either way she's earning a bundle of money at the moment in sponsorships. I for one hope she will win a tournament. It will be a confidence-builder and hopefully shut up the jealous nay-sayers. And if you think what she's done already isn't impressive, think of all the so-called 'supermodels' too afraid to raise a sweat it might make their mascara run. Do you think they could play hard and sweat like Anna and still look as good as she does?
No one doubts the Swiss Miss's abilities on the tennis courts. The main point of contention lately has been her behaviour - especially the brattish outbust at Roland Garos last year (maybe some would like to push her off the treebranch she's lying on here). I say who cares? She's young, she's perky (so perky!), she'll learn...
