introduction
Okay, I could gush and say how much I love the witty banter of Buffy and her friends, and how I wish I could talk like that, and how eerily the show resonates with my own life, etc, but I won’t (beyond saying that). I’m simply the type who gets obsessive about trivial things like television shows, who finds solace in pop culture items like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Okay? And it occured to me that my obsession with Buffy has, not unlike an episode of the show, turned me into a Buffy fiend. So I thought I’d write about it from the viewpoint of such an invented fiend, or demon, who’s a lot like me. I call him Danchev. He’s Danchev for a whole bunch of reasons I won’t go into here.

This would be quite pathetic if it weren’t so enervating - to me at least. I leave a session of Buffy, yes, with a sadness that it’s over, but also with a renewed will to go out and embrace life; a sense that my own story has also been worth telling, and has been told well. Is this trivial? Not in my opinion. Is this corny? Well, yes. But it’s the truth. Being a fiend is probably not a good thing, ultimately. But it helps to at least recognise that you are one.

Basically, this is just a piece of fan fiction. Think of it as a heartwarming tale about a lonely real-life demon who gains companionship and humanity with the help of Buffy and friends. Hope you recognise something of yourselves here (though, hopefully, not too much!). Either way, thanks for giving me the opportunity to share. Ain’t the ‘net a beautiful thing!

No Buffy links provided. You probably have them all already ;-)
