The Nineties

Me dj-ing on the Graveyard shift at 3RRR, 86. Yep, this is pre-cd's. Carl came in this night to check it out and take photos. As they say, I had a good head for radio. And I'm still wearing that ratty jacket!

Winter in Bright, 87. Some friends and I hired some bikes and went riding. This picture was taken near my mate Paul's parents' holiday house where we were staying, near Wandiligong.

More winter Bright. Me, Paul, Annoula and Matthew. We kinda look like seperate bookends, don't we? This was the night we arrived, and it was cold! This was on my first trip to the snow. Another great trip.

Newly and I had a picnic in Fairfield Park. We decided to continue it when we got back to my place in Preston.

Still having our picnic. Annoula liked to have her clothes colour co-ordinated with mine. I guess this is what's known as one's 'salad days'.

Portrait of the artist as a young fan. I'd just bought that Kinks album ('Face To Face'), and thought it would make a nice motif for these photos. Note the photo on the shelf, displaying my dad (on the right) as a young hood.

Me, Annoula and Andrew, one of Newly's Philip Institute collegues at the break-up party. Newly color co-ordinating yet again. Note how the abstract painting behind us seems to frame Newly and me. God I was happy then.

January, 1988, in the backyard at Bridges Avenue, and as the note says on the original, 'heading for a fall'. I used to jog all the time and was pretty fit back then. I had to be, to fit into those green pants - they were tight! And yes, the beard was back.
