| And now for someone who really deserves a page of her
own: Adalita, from Geelong band Magic Dirt. I've seen them play many
times, especially at the Punters Club with the Fitzroy
'ferals'. I've also caught Addy rawkin' out doing the rock guitar babe
goddess thing with her Gibson SG at the Espy in St Kilda - that was
probably the best gig so far. They wailed so hard!
I've also seen Addy on the street a couple of times. Once, she was having a meal outside Joe's Garage just before a Punters Club gig (this was during her dating Daniel Johns of silverchair phase). The other time was at Missing Link in Melbourne, where she was buying a stack of cd's and enthusing about bands to the guy behind the counter. (Damn she looked good!) She is nothing if not a woman of the people. I never spoke to her on either occasion. It just wouldn't have been cool. |
