Amen opened up the show at about 8:00 PM. They were pretty damn good. their drummer was fuckin' awesome!! He kept twiriling his sticks and everyting-he just flat our kicked ass!! Anyways...some people in the front row were talking shit to the singer, and at one point the singer said some shit, but then got down and hit the guy in the face. Well, the guy in the crowd reacted and got ejected...then the singer climbed the stage speakers and jumped over the balcony railing where we were and left. the next band to play was SLiPKNoT. I was really looking forward to them play, not only because their CD kicks ass, but because I had heard some crazy shit about their OZZfest shows. Anyways, when the lights started demming, the crowd started chanting their name, and they opened up with EYELE SS and played a REALLY SHORT set. But it was fun while it lasted, a constant pit. 6 (Clown) had his drumset on hydrolics, and also played on a beer keg with a big metal pole. Their other custom percussionist had his drum set on springs, which made for a good show. Sid, their DJ, stage dove a good 5 times. Also, Joey their drummer threw his sitcks into the crowd and my friend/singer Virgil caught it, and a set list. Anyways, Machine Head came on...it was OK, but they played too long. Now to the good stuff. Coal Chamber came on at about 10:30 or so. The stage got all dark and "This is Halloween" began playing over the PA. Then the Michael Myers theme music. After that, Bug took the stage, followed by Nadja (who is VERY VERY VERY HOT!!), then Dez, then Meegs. They opened up with Loco and the place went fucking crazy. I don't really remember the order all that well, but I do pretty much remember what songs they played. They played the following: Oddity, Tyler's Song, Not Living, Big Truck, Bradley, Notion, Clock, No Home, First, Mist, I, Pig and they closed with Sway. During the 2nd to last song, which I THINK was Oddity, our singer caught Bug's attention with our demo and Bug told him to throw it. Well...he did, and they got our CD, but he got thrown out. Anyways, Meegs had a really weird mic, with like a synthesizer on it that he touched with his head in between songs. I don't really know what it was, but it was a cool effect. Anyways, also after a song, I had been yelling for Nadja all night, and she looked up at me and did the little "I love you" thing with her arms and hands, but only cuz I did it first, but it made my day. At the end of the show, shiny confetti exploded everywhere and a disco ball was spinning. After the show I waited in the rain for autographs, but I had to leave because I almost got into a fight with the security gaurds. We did get a demo to all of the bands that played that night though so it was good. I also talked to Edsel and Simon Dope there.
