Jan 12, 1873, Portland, Meigs Co., OH], married on Sept. 11, 1819, with his father officiating, Sarah E. Joseph of the Upper Monongahela Valley, b. 1799,[another source says b. Oct 9, 1802, d. Jan. 29, 1892, Portland, Meigs, Co., OH]
 From Henckle Genealogy, page 238: "Amos Cheuvront born April 23, 1794 Midway, Virginia (now West Virginia); married September 11, 1819 to Sarah Joseph.  The marriage bond was signed by Reverend Joseph Cheuvront.  This family removed to Jackson County, Virginia (now West Virginia).  No other data."
Their children were:  Joseph(4?), Perry, Benjamin(1), John W., Nancy[or Mary] Jane, Cassie, Frances, Sarah W. [and Nathan Cheuvront (s/o Amos Cheuvront and Sarah Joseph) Note: Nathan is not listed in the "Brief History of the Cheuvront Family in America"  by John Howard Cheuvront.]

10:  GIDEON Cheuvront married Phoebe Post on Feb. 28, 1819.  Phoebe's father was Martin Post, of Jesse's Run (now Lewis Co. Va).  They had four sons and two daughters;
James Martin, Aaron(2), George, Edwin, Mary and Elizabeth.
Gideon died Nov. 14 1842, of "acute indigestion" while returning from a cattle-selling trip to Baltimore.
Edwin was just 8 yrs old at the time of Gideon's death, and so he lived with his uncle Caleb for a number of years.  James Martin and George settled in Sullivan Co., MO in 1856, and Edwin went west to live near Farmington, WA.  Aaron(2) took care of his mother throughout her life, despite Phoebe's mental decline [Aaron reportedly built her a small house in the yard of the main home, into which she would be securely locked at night.].  He inheirited the houses and 160 acres.

Aaron(2) married Jane Lytle, daughter of James and Mary Lytle, on Apr. 13, 1834, and reared his family on Jesse's Run.
[more here in the Nebraska wing of the family.]

James Martin and George reared large families in Missouri, and most widely known among George's descendants are Luther C. Cheuvront, banker and rancher of Roosevelt, Ok., and J.Howard Cheuvront of Phoenix AZ.  Among James Martin's descendants is Mrs. CE Hewitt of Bethel, MO.

[note: Martin Post was a Revolutionary War Veteran, and I was able to find him in the DAR lineage books.  Martin was married to Margaret Cookman, and their daughter was Elizabeth Post, who later married Parker Beuchamp Cookman.  The Cookmans and Cheuvronts figure very prominently in one another's family histories. see the Post headstones here.]

11:  JAMES LITEFORD Cheuvront,(s/o Joseph Cheuvront and Elizabeth Elsworth), born Feb. 25, 1798, at Midway, near Good Hope, West Virginia, d. Sept 6, 1840, Sand Creek, Jackson Co., WVA. was just two years old at the time of his mother's death in 1800.  He later married Eliza England in Harrison Co.  Their children were:
Edward, James, Joe Marshall, Eliza, and Mary.
Edward married three times but had no children; I [W.L.Cheuvront] called at his home in Parkersburg in Sept. 1915, when descendants of Aaron(1), Amos, Caleb, and James Liteford were all together;Marion "Moll", son of Isaac, grandson of Aaron, "Judge" Benjamin, who was a grandson of Amos.
[W.L. recalls] that Edward told of calling for his mail in Seattle, WA, and was informed there was a Charles Cheuvront who also got mail there.  Ed looked him up and found he was from Kansas and was Morris' son [Caleb and Rebecca's son Morris, named for Morris Covert, see next page].  Ed and Charles, though friends, were first cousins once removed and had never known.

James reared his family in Zanesville OH, and was the father of Eloise Cheuvront, the "Parisian Milliner" who kept her millinery stock in what is now the O.J. Morrison Building on Main Street.

Joe Marshall lived in Calhoun Co, and had a son Charles, who was a Methodist preacher in Annamoriah.  Charles' son was Joe M. Cheuvront of Akron, OH.  He [unknown which "he"] is also the father of James Ellis who died at Marion, IN., and Albert B. Cheuvront of Oblong, IL.  His [unsure who] granddaughter was Mrs. Kathleen Kammerer of Los Angeles, CA, who was admitted to membership in the DAR through services rendered by Joseph Cheuvront.

Eliza Cheuvront married Alex Hall.  Their son was J. William Hall of Huntington [unknown state, I assume Va].

Mary Cheuvront married a Jackson, and one child, Caradon, is listed.

[From Henckle Genealogy, page 238: "James Liteford Cheuvront born Feb 25, 1798 Midway Virginia (now West Virginia); died 1840 Jackson County Virginia (now West Virginia); married Eliza England.  No known issue.  James L. Cheuvront received, according to his father's will, 224 acres on Jesse Hughe's Run in Lewis County, Virginia (now West Virginia) part of a 400 acre tract purchased from Michael Roar."]
