2: Donna Olive Cheuvront: (d/o Arminta Cookman and John O. Cheuvront) born July 14, 1891, m. Clyde E. Fairley, a farmer, on Aug 30, 1915.  They lived on a beautiful farm in Sullivan County Missouri, three miles southeast of Harris. Clyde was a good farmer and his place was exceptionally well-kept, clean, and productive.  He farmed all his life with horse-drawn equipment and never owned a tractor.  When Clyde and Donna retired, they moved to Marris in 1956. [J. Howard noted, rather sadly, that this represented for him the end of the "good life" and of small "horse-powered" family farms, a relaxed, unhurried style of life so rich that now its shortcomings and hardships are all but forgotten.]  photos of Donna Olive on photos pp. 7 and 13
Donna was well known throughout Missouri as a fine weaver and quilter.  Her husband Clyde died at the home on August 9, 1960, and was buried in the Harris, MO cemetery.  Donna and Clyde E. Fairley had three daughters:

Jan 20, 1918.  They developed the Lush Acres Dairy four miles west of Harris, where they lived until Harry's death on April 7, 1967.  Gail continued to operate the farm with her son Roger's help, but then sold it in 1970 and moved to Trenton, MO.  Gail and Harry Williams have two children: Harriet Gail Williams (b. 1939, m. Watson.  They lived on a farm five miles southeast of Harris, MO, until 1925, when they moved to Bingham, UT, where Ray drilled for test cores  for the Utah Copper Company in their open pit mine.  He also worked as a carpenter, and retired in 1963.  photos of Eva on photos p 13

Hospital Board.  They were among the first farmers to make full use of power machinery and modern farming methods.  With their son and grandsons they built up the home farm to several thousand acres, and the family (as of 1972) still own and and operate one of the largest and most modern dairies in the county. photos of Mildred on photos p 13

Howard was born on the home farm near Harris, MO.  He graduated from Kirksville State Teachers College and earned a Masters degree from the Univ of Missouri.  He was a member of Phi Delta Kappa honorary fraternity at U. of MO.
Hildred also studied at Kirksville State Teachers College, and at Marysville State Teachers College.  They both taught and Howard served as a school administrator in MO for ten years before entering the Indian Service in Arizona, Oct. 1938.  They served as teachers and administrators in Indian Service schools there for 8 years--four years on the Hualapai Indian Reservation near Peach Springs, AZ, and four on the Salt River Indian Reservation near Scottsdale, AZ.
They moved to Phoenix in 1946. [J. Howard relates that at the time Phoenix was still an "overgrown cowtown" of 80k, but by 1972 the population was some 700k, and the city limits had long since extended past his home at 3333 East Campbell Avenue.]  Howard started a real estate business that expanded to include insurance and construction, [until the construction business "crowded out the other two".  His company built homes in 19 different communities throughout the state of Arizona, and he proudly related that "more than 3,000 families live in Cheuvront Homes"].
Hildred Michael Cheuvront taught school for ten years in MO and ten in Arizona.  She was very active in Church work with the Aldersgate Methodist Church where she and Howard were charter members.  She was also quite active in community service work and earned her 20-yr service pin with the American Red Cross.  Howard and Hildred have two children:
Shirley Ruth Cheuvront: (d/o J. Howard and Hildred Michael Cheuvront) b. 1930 (living as of 1972).  She was born in MO and graduated from Scottsdale High, Phoenix Jr. College, and Arizona State University.  At all these insititutions she was actively involved in music groups, drama, and student government.  She served as President of Associated Women Students at Phoenix College, and was a member of Alpha Sigma Gamma sorority.  She was elected to membership in Kappa Delta Pi and Iota Sigma Alpha honorary fraternaties.  After receiving a degree in Music Education, she was confirmed as a Consecrated Director of Music of the Methodist Church.
On Dec. 18, 1950, she married Robert Elis Ericson, and both received their BA degrees in 1952.  Since then they have done graduate work at Arizona State Univ, Univ. of Arizona, Washington State Univ., Central Washingotn State College, and Eastern Washington State College.  They lived in Phoenix until 1967, with four years out for military service in the Air Force at Chanute Field, Rantoul, IL, where Bob was an instructor in the weather school.
After college Shirley taught school and served as Director of Music for Aldersgate Methodist Church, while Bob ran a construction company. Later they sold the company and moved to Richland, WA, where Bob worked in software development.  They spent 1971-72 travelling and living in Europe and South Africa before locating once again in Richland, WA.  Their children:  Robert Tod Ericson (b. 1953), Christine Alison Ericson (b. 1955), and Leslie Sue Ericson (b. 1957).
Ronald Howard Cheuvront (s/o J. Howard and Hildred Michael Cheuvront) b. 1936 (living as of 1972), m. 1955 to Sue Carole Irvine.  Ronald was born in MO but came with his parents to AZ when he was 1 1/2 years old, and spent his first four years on the Hualapai Indian Reservation where he learned to speak Hualapai.  He grew up in Phoenix, and was an avid baseball player, pitching for four years in American Legion Baseball, and also through high school and college.  He graduated from Arizona State Univ. in 1958 with a degree in Business Administration, and was active in the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the Air Force ROTC.  He spent three years in the Air Force stationed at Sioux City, Iowa, and two years at Clark Field in the Phillipines.  He achieved the rank of Captain, and holds a private pilot's license, an instructor's license, and commercial pilot's license.  Ronald grew up in the construction business and became a partner in Cheuvront Homes, Inc. with his father.
Ronald's wife Sue Irvine grew up with Ron, attended Arizona State Univ., then accompanied him through his years of military service.  [Their second daughter Connie Lyn was born in the Phillipines during Ron's service there, and J. Howard relates that the cablegram announcing her birth on Dec. 11 was received in Phoenix on Dec. 10 due to the time difference.]  Their daughters:  Carole Sue Cheuvront (b. 1958), Connie Lyn Cheuvront (b. 1960), and Sharon Kay Cheuvront (b. 1964).
9:  Paul Gerald Cheuvront (s/o Arminta Cookman and John Oliver Cheuvront), b. Sept 15, 1911, d. 1962, m. 1934 to Dorothy Mae Stroud, b. 1911.  They lived on the home farm near Harris, MO, with his mother Arminta until her death in 1943, then moved to Phoenix, AZ.  their two sons:  Jerry Frederick Cheuvront (b. 1935, m. 1957 Lois Jean Christensen, b. 1938, had children Deborah Ann Cheuvront, b. 1959, and Kenneth David Cheuvront, b. 1961), and Steven Paul Cheuvront (b. 1948). photos of Paul on photos p 13
