1: Isaac Cheuvront (son of Aaron Cheuvront and Matilda Grant) [b. Aug. 24, 1802, Harrison Co., VA, d. Mar. 22, 1896, Roane Co., WVA.  He supposedly served in something called the "Home guard" during Civil War.  He was buried in Fairview Cemetery, Fairview Southern Methodist Church near Reedyon the border of Roane & Wirt Counties, next to Aaron, his son, and Isaac's tombstone inscription reads: "Isaac Cheuvront, born Aug 24 1802, died March 22 1896, Aged 93 ys 6 ms 28 ds. Our father and mother are gone, they lay beneath the sod, Dear parents, tho we miss you much, we know you rest with God."

      Susan appears in the 1870 & 1880 Jackson Co., Census w\her father age 7 and 17 respectively.  She then appears in the 1900 Wirt Co.,WV Census with Monroe; age 39. Then the 1910 w\ Charles B. she is listed as 48yrs old.  Her first husband, Monroe Gough was b Dec 5 1855 Roane County.  His nickname was "Mun", and he was a farmer and a jack of all trades.  The last name was originally spelled GOUGH and all of his records, including Census', have it spelled that way.  In addition the 1910 Census with Carlie Lightner has the step-children (Mun & Susan's children) listed as GOUGH.   There were other  GOFFs in the area as well, and a family story states that Mun and Susan's son Marshall changed his last name after a falling out with his brothers.  All of the headstones at Center Valley Cemetery in Wirt Co., have the name spelled GOFF- and all following generations spelled it GOFF.
