God Gave Adam The Finger (a critique of Christianity)

Everyone is someone else's weirdo. I'm weird, you're weird, we're all weird. Thus the playing field is leveled and none of us are above critique. However, when your belief system causes others to egregiously suffer, you've singled yourself out as a target, too. After two thousand years of a bloody history and questionable practices Christianity needs to be thoroughly examined and evaluated. It has been said, "don't criticise unless you offer better alternatives" or as Franz Kafka put it, "You may not destroy someone else's world unless you are prepared to offer a better one." So before we go into criticism of Christianity, there are many excellent alternative spiritual paths listed at the top of the page found HERE.

I can criticise Christianity because I was at one time (for over a fifteen years) a "washed-in-the-blood, holy spirit filled, saved, sanctified, lead-others-to-Jesus" Christian. Then many things started to occur about three years ago. My life as I knew it as well as my fabric of reality were pulled out from under my feet. I started to experience unusal visions, OBEs (out of body experiences), strange mental and physical phemonenon, nightmares, especially symbolic dreams -- all while I was a born again Christian. I did not seek or want these unwelcome phenomena, however, they somehow initiated the process on their own accord and they definitely succeeded in grabbing my attention. Subsequently, through the process of the past several years I was divorced, I lost custody of my son (devasting beyond words), I lost my residence, my job, and I was screwed royally by supposed "godly" christian friends. Now that the smoke has slowly started to clear, rather than give in to despair, grief, and anger I have evolved spiritually. I am a Pagan. I have moved beyond Christianity, I have left the church, and I've gained a unique vantage point as a former Christian. I can now look back and note all of Christianity's empty promises, contradictions, insidious lies, and the negative impact it has had on my mind and life and other lives and minds as well. If you can help it, have little or nothing to do with Christians or Christianity. I am not suggesting that they be harmed or persecuted or Christians do not have the right (unlike everyone else) to believe as they choose. What I am suggesting is beware of Christianity's deception and Christians' duplicitous nature and practices. Christianity, the Christian god, and The Bible do not accurately stand up to pervasive scrutiny, critical thinking, personal experience, the power of your soul, an open-minded or embracing world-view, or even probing tests.
