~A Glimpse of My Family~

MY LOVING GRANDMOTHER

~1913 to 1998~

The single white rose was presented

to Grandma by my mother Betty.

This was Mother's Day 1994.

The rose represents purity and love.

The Lord called her home

October 5, 1998--7 a.m. Age 85

God looked around his garden

And He found an empty place

He then looked down upon this earth

And saw your tired face.

He put His arms around you

And lifted you to rest

God's garden must be beautiful,

He always takes the best.

He knew that you were suffering,

He knew you were in pain.

He knew that you would never get

Well on earth again.

He saw the road was getting rough

And the hills were hard to climb,

So He closed your weary eyelids,

And whispered, "Peace be thine."

It broke our hearts to lose you but

You didn't go alone,

For part of us went with you

The day God called you home.

The song now playing is

"IN THE GARDEN"

One that was sang by her neice

Dorothy and nephews Rev. Fred and

Thurmond at the services

By faith she was a Baptist. Living

a christian life, she would read

her Bible faithfully and teach

us to love one another.

Due to

alzheimers and end stage liver

disease (of an unknown origin)

her ability to read, and to

recognize her daughters was taken from her.

Even with these heart

breaking afflictions, she saw

Angels and spoke with the Lord.

This continued until she slipped

into a coma four days prior to

her departing from her earthly body.

Assention into heaven was felt

by those at her bedside. An experience

that only those present was witness to.

Discussion of the departure is

a heart and soul touching story.

Undescribable in words--- a soul

escorted by Angels from her own

bedroom to a place of eternal

peace with our Lord!

Grandmother's favorite Christian music.

The song "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" was sang by

Gran's nephew Ray Bowers Cline with

guitar at her funeral.

"Cripple Creek" was a song that

Gran played on her harmonica.

She would pause and sing

a few bars and then resume playing.

The night she came

home from the hospital in

June, 1998, she ask for her harmonica

and played a short tune.

The family was astonished and amazed.

We were drawn to tears of joy

and deep sadness as we knew she

all too soon would play for

the Angels in heaven! That was the

last time we heard her play!

This birdhouse is placed here in memory of one

of Gran's memorable statements. She would

always refer to her house as her

'LITTLE BIRD HOUSE'.

We have grown to use this phrase

when speaking of Grandmother's home!
