This is such a varied area for me. Seems I always have at least
ten irons in the fire at one time; but slowly things do get finished. Definately
a "hands" person.
Recently I have made two fire screens in two totally different
techniques. This first one; ( wiil have to get a picture without the corner
glare as this doesn't do it justice) was made in the same idea as a
"Russian Icon" The border pattern and the angel are both raised with modelling
paste, put on with a pastry tube. Gold gilt is on the raised areas.
The centre is also gilt; the low-relief pattern is quite attractive;
unfortunately this doen't come through in the photo. I will update this
photo as soon as I get better ones.
This screen is about 3' wide and 2' tall.
Screen #2 ; I made for myself to hide our "ugly" woodstove in the cabin.
It is hinged pine panels about 3' tall & 3 1/2' wide; one inch thick
pine. A foray into "Sharon style" folk art.

It depicts a street; the centre panel; a school appropriately called
Apsley School; there are all sorts of details like children's faces in
the school windows; rose arbors and lace curtains. Will have to take a
detail shot to give you the gist.
At the moment I have just finished a "headboard " sketch.; which I will
start as soon as I finished the 3 x 4' painting of sunflowers which is
at the moment utilizing my easel. That picture is almost done. Will
take it's picture when it is.

This is the quick sketch I made with coloured markers; will be good
fun when done. The central cat will get enlarged and appliqued to a duvet
cover.
This is a large 3' wreath I made from cones; collected on a long holiday
Tom and I had across to British Columbia then down the coast to Northern
California; then slowly home through the states. I think we covered
about 10,000 miles in six weeks. I collected several of each new cone I
found ;; by the time I had added the large sugar pine cones from California,
Tom was starting to make comments like: "can hardly find the tent with
all these ____ cones." But they all arrived home safely. I call it our
Trip Wreath. It is up all the time.. at Christmas I stick in a Santa :-)
TRIP WREATH
I know I mentioned somewhere that I love to decorate outside for winter.
Helps with the long grey days. Here is one of the window boxes, and also
the antique bobsled I painted to "Welcome" our visitors.
