MusicOk, Time for a little musical renovation. First off, for those of you who don't have an MP3 player, or are afraid of MP3's or for some other reason don't worship them as I do, Here's the big midi list: Now that that's over with, back to the rest of reality, and to the MP3's! Now, I don't have any MP3's here for you to download, becuase the files are BIG! But I suggest that you get Napster and get some of these for yourself here's a small selection of my playlist, and the justifications for my strange tastes in music. We won't get into my CD collection, it would cause many of your brains to explode, and it would probably get all over the keyboard and monitor and who'd clean it up, hmm? On to the music! For what it's worth- Buffalo springfeild-This is my favorite song of all time. First of all, I like protest rock, and this is the mother of all protest songs. Second, I think the message is still pertinent today. Battle lines are still being drawn, nobody's right if everybody's wrong, and young people speaking thier mids have never been approved of.Hey Jude- Beatles-I dunno, I just like the melody. Been known to sing it in my sleep.Penny Lane- Beatles-Reminds me of my town. I'm from suburbia.Rocky Raccoon- Beatles-Jon got me hooked on this one. Heh.American Pie- Don McClean-Not to be confused with the remake, nor the stupid movie. I just like it it all...Iris- Goo Goo Dolls-I heard it once in a Movie theater Bathroom. From then on I knew I had to have it. The line that got me is "Yeah you bleed just to know you're alive.Don't Cry for me Argentina- Madonna-I heard it while buying clothing at a J Silver. I no longer shop in stores like that, having become a hippe. But the music sticks with me. Besides, I liked the movie.Plesant Valley Sunday- Monkees-Another Plesant valley sunday, here in status symbol land...Last train to Clarkesville- Monkees-It's all about the melody.Champaign Supernova- Oasis-This is Cannonball's Themesong. I miss that summer a lot, the summer when this song came out. I think it was that summer that the tomboy in me was slayne. It wasn't until I was 16 that it was reborn as a warrior princess.Blowin' in the wind- Peter, Paul, and Mary-Did I mention that I like war protest music? The Marvelous Toy- Peter, Paul, and Mary-It went Zzzip when it moved and POP when it stopped, and whirrrr when it stood still...Bohemian Rhapsody- Queen-I've heard that liking this song is a measure of weirdness, and I know that singing it without the aid of 4 other people makes you look pschyso, but I like it. And it reminds me of Mecatato for those of you who can relate.Mr. Roboto- Styx-Domo Arigato, Mr. Roboto! I like the techno sound, plus the message. Machines Dehumanize. Not that I'm giving up mine anytime soon.Daydream Believer- Monkees-I'm the Daydream Believer. Me.Claire de Lune- Debussey-I like Classical too.Silence- Beethoven-See Claire de Lune. Incedently this is one of those songs you hear playing from down the hall in a horror movie. The Dangling conversation- Simon and Garfunkle-This is just SO my relationship with my mother. it goes through my head whenever I'm in the same room with her.Homeward Bound- Simon and Garfunkle-And all my words come back to me in shades of mediocrity. Pertinent to me, being a writer and all.Bright eyes- Art Garfunkle-First off, it's in Watership down, after Hazle gets shot. Second, my Indian name is Bright eyes. Third, I like sad songs, love the melody, and really relate to it.I played this song when M puppy Rosemary died. That's Your Horoscope for today- Weird Al-Now you may find it inconceivable or at the very least a bit unlikely that the relative position of the planets and the stars could have a special deep significance or meaning that exclusively applies to only you, but let me give you my assurance that these forecasts and predictions are all based on solid, scientific, documented evidence, so you would have to be some kind of moron not to realize that every single one of them is absolutely true.~Back to main~
