I bought a new computer today because I thought this one was dying. But now I'm not so sure anymore. I disabled Norton antivirus and it seems to be working normally again. By 'normally' I mean of course 'the sad, sucky and pathetic way that it's chosen to work after I reformatted the damned thing a couple of years ago when I thought-' well, never mind what. But yeah, a little dilemma of sorts: to cancel the transaction and keep the money in my pocket or not, to rejoin the rest of the online world in the 21st Century or remain in the mid-90s, et cetera. Blah.
