We went to the Morpheus gallery in Beverly Hills yesterday. They close at four and we got there five before because it was raining and the 101 was just horrible. But the gallery people were really, really cool and let us stay and finish our leisurely inspection of the displays without any rush. I thought it was just going to be Giger's stuff but to my delight they had Barlowe's as well, and unlike Giger's which were mostly just numbered reproductions and lithos, Barlowe's were originals. I'm talking about the acrylics in "Barlowe's Inferno," my favorite in my small collection of art books. The sigils are even more beautiful in the originals. They're just awesome. My birthday's coming up so if any of you win the lottery and feel generous, they go for around $13,000 apiece. Oh, they were playing SPK's Invocation in one of the rooms and that made me happy. It sounded like a different version from the ones I already have so I asked the nice boy who worked there and he showed me the CD. I was expecting a compilation but it was all SPK. So. Another surprise and another thing on the long list of things to buy. Afterwards we went back to A's place off of Melrose. Pandora had made sandwiches and we ate those in the small and dark cave that is A's living space. It was one of those so-this-is-how-other-people-live experiences. I love those. Then we went to Vinyl Fetish and got a couple of CDs. Well, three imports. They will make Remy happy at the next Repent. I like making her happy you know. Anyway, since we were already there we went across the street and said Hello to Gitane. And then finally we went home. It was still raining but the freeway wasn't as bad. We were supposed to visit Arc's grandma at the hospital in Dead Oaks but since it was kinda late, he decided to do it Monday instead. We stopped by Pandora's Mom's house in The Camarilla to pick up her laundry. She checked her messages while we were there, and there was one for Arc. His grandmother died around five... this was around the time we were having sandwiches. We went home in silence. They
rented "Man Bites Dog." I'd seen it before, a hundred years ago, with Locutus
back when he still lived in The Camarilla and a bit before our worlds collided
with the clubs'. It was funny then and it's still funny now. But last night
I was the only one laughing.
