Queensryche Singer Comfortable With Pink Floyd Comparisons

SEATTLE (Wireless Flash) – Ever notice Queensryche’s “Silent Lucidity” and Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb” have a section that sounds almost exactly alike? If you did, Queensryche singer Geoff Tate would be happy. He says he likes it when people make the connection, because “...that means they’re really listening.” Tate says the reason the chorus harmonies sound so much alike in both songs is the same guy wrote them – composer Michael Kamen. Tate, who’s self-titled solo debut comes out June 25, says the eerie connection was completely accidental and the band didn’t notice it until long after it was recorded.
