NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Blondes don’t have more fun, says teen heartthrob Freddie Prinze Jr., who had to go platinum for his role as “Fred” in Scooby-Doo. He tells TV Guide he truly suffered for his art by bleaching his dark hair blonde, confessing, “As a guy, if you have dark hair, it’s a pain in the ass.”

SAN FRANCISCO – After being put on hold while lead singer James Hetfield went through rehab, Metallica is back. The band members, with producer Bob Rock sitting in on bass, played a surprise show at a small San Francisco club Tuesday night. Besides Metallica classics, the band also played a few Ramones covers.

NEW YORK – Taking a page from The Osbournes, ABC’s The View recently bleeped out co-host Joy Behar. However, the expletive in question has some folks up in arms. The View producers decided to bleep out Behar saying “thank you, Jesus,” under the premise that some people might find it offensive. At press time The View had received more than 100 angry letters and a few stern words from Rev. Jerry Falwell.

PORTLAND, Ore. – Metalhead Andrew W.K. sings about partying, and with songs like “Party Til You Puke,” “Party Hard” and “It’s Time To Party,” some might wonder if he can walk the walk. However, W.K. says he’s for real, recently telling the Portland Mercury that he parties “365 days a year, 24 hours a day” and that life is “an obstacle course, but it’s still a party.”
