DALLAS (Wireless Flash) – June is the wedding season and also the time when a new type of manners menace appears: “Bridezilla.” According to Dallas-based wedding coordinator Gail Dunson, the typical Bridezilla is an average girl next door who somehow morphs into a self- centered, pushy nightmare once she gets engaged. She knows of one Bridezilla who was so insistant that her bridesmaid wear red nail polish that she held the gal down and painted her herself at the wedding. Another bride wanted to look extra skinny in her wedding photos so she asked only her heavyset friends to be bridesmaids and made them wear unflattering dresses just to be sure. Although some Bridezillas get so ugly, their friends dump them after the wedding, Dunson says you can subdue one simply by not agreeing to her unreasonable demands. Dunson has written a book about the phenomenon, Bridezilla: True Tales From Etiquette Hell (Salado Press), using the pen name Noe Spaemme.
