Barbara Streisand Producer Becomes Indiana Jones of Classical Music

LOS ANGELES (Wireless Flash) – Talk about career jumps: Denny Diante has gone from producing acts like Barbara Streisand to becoming the Indiana Jones of classical music. Diante recently rescued over a half million hours of historic Russian classical music that had been buried deep inside a Moscow prison for 50 years. The analog tapes were discovered a few years back by one of Diante’s associates and Diante has fought tooth and nail with the Russian government to get the rights to them – often schmoozing and drinking vodka with them long into the night. Now he plans to release the tracks as remastered CDs. However, Diante says the commute is a pain – he has to fly from L.A. to Russia whenever he wants to work with the tapes since no insurance company will insure the reels, which are worth billions.
