Computer Screen Eyeglasses Available Next Year

BOSTON, Mass. (Wireless Flash) – Would you believe your next computer screen might be so small it’ll fit on the lenses of your glasses? It sounds like something out of Blade Runner, but one Boston-based high tech company is working on eyeglasses that display a computer readout on the lenses. Mark Spitzer, CEO of MicroOptical, says folks will soon be surfing the internet and watching DVDs using the glasses – which look like the headgear of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s Geordi LaForge. The futuristic shades plug into a VHS-tape-sized mini-computer and are currently on display at the Society for Information Display Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition in Boston. However, they could be on the market as early as next year.
