Swedes Create ‘Toilet Entertainment System’

GOTHENBURG, Sweden (Wireless Flash) – Bathroom reading is going high-tech thanks to two industrial design students in Sweden. Par Stenberg and Johan Thoresson have just unveiled their “Toilet Entertainment System” – a kiosk that prints out news on toilet paper for handy reading and wiping in public restrooms. The gizmo is built into the bathroom’s tile and offers the latest news on sports, culture and international affairs. And when you’re done reading, you just flush the paper down the toilet. Co-inventor Stenberg predicts people will have strong opinions about the toilet paper news printer – although some may not like the idea one bit. However, he says the invention serves a useful purpose by giving folks something to do during all the boring minutes they spend sitting on the john.
