Archaeologists Curse More Than Mummies

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Wireless Flash) – You’ve heard of “The Mummy’s Curse?” Well, one scientist claims most of the cursing at mummies’ tombs comes out of the archaeologists’ mouths. National Geographic explorer Johan Reinhard recently wound up in a mummy search in Peru for a new PBS special, Inca Mummies: Secrets Of A Lost World, debuting tonight (May 14). He says the team of scientists were full of mummy cursing, because each had an archeological specialty that they felt was more important than others. Reinhard adds some scientists took their time analyzing the mummies, making the others cranky waiting for their turns. Even worse: Mummies have a “dark moldy smell” that’s very unpleasant. In the end, however, Reinhard says the group got the job done and came away agreeing on at least one thing: Mummies stink.
