‘ER’ Nurse Gets By With a Little Help From Her Co-Stars

HOLLYWOOD (Wireless Flash) – Like many actors, ER nurse Lily Mariye wants to direct. And she’s succeeded with a little help from her co-stars. Mariye, who has played Nurse Lily Jarvik since the show’s first season, recently completed her first directing gig – a short film titled The Shangra-La Cafe that she also wrote and co-produced. The film is currently making its big debut on PBS stations around the country, and Mariye says she’s indebted to recently departed co-star Anthony Edwards, who not only bankrolled part of the production, but gave her a priceless piece of advice. Mariye says Edwards told her: “Whenever someone asks you a question on the set, answer it. You have to look confident so they’ll trust in you.” Now, Mariye wants to make a feature version of her film and hopes the exposure on PBS raises interest.
