Big Tymers Rapper: ‘I INVENTED bling bling!’

NEW ORLEANS (Wireless Flash) – It might sound like a flashy claim, but one rapper is saying he invented the phrase “bling bling” currently in vogue. Manny Fresh of the Big Tymers says he first came up with “bling bling” many years ago, though he can’t exactly remember when. At the time he just hoped it would sound catchy in a song. Fresh says it’s “weird” to hear “bling bling” in fast food commercials and all over the radio, though he thinks it makes sense that it’s so popular, stating: “We all living in the bling bling era.” Now Fresh and his bandmate Bryan Williams are experiencing some bling bling of their own – the Big Tymers’ new record, Hood Rich, is the No. 1 best-selling album in America, according to Billboard charts.
