‘Pierced Teens Are Happy Teens,’ Says Expert

TORONTO (Wireless Flash) – A body piercing expert is shooting holes through a new study that concludes teens who pierce their body parts are more likely to drink, skip school or have sex. Shannon Larratt, publisher of Body Modification Ezine, says the University of Rochester research is flawed because it draws conclusions about all pierced teens by looking at only 200. Larratt says he’s corresponded with more than 100,000 piercing aficionados and found pierced kids to be “bright” and “curious” – not troublemakers. He adds many teens feel getting a nose, lip or belly button ring is therapeutic and claims piercing has saved thousands of kids from committing suicide. Larratt concludes the new study is “criminally fraudulent” and encourages ill-will toward “...creative young people who are just trying to express themselves in a world that rewards uniformity.”
