Stephen King Doesn’t Pull Reporters’ Legs Anymore

NEW YORK (Wireless Flash) – Yarn-spinner Stephen King has sworn off telling tall tales to reporters during interviews – and it’s all because of the internet. The wealthy wordsmith recently told gossip reporter Baird Jones that back before the internet, whenever a pesky journalist asked too many questions, he’d sometimes respond with “a howler or two” – just for laughs. However, that practice has come back to haunt the horror-meister: King says thanks to the internet, many of these fake factoids about himself are circulating around as truth. One particular “howler” that won’t die is the myth that King gets inspired by looking at a pickled slave boy’s heart which he keeps in a jar on his desk. Although King admits he told that story to a Scottish reporter a few years ago, he assures “For the record, there are no preserved body parts in the King household.”
